    Exclamation Score from Different ScoreSheets

    Hi,
I'd like to request your help for a project.
I have scoresheets of the students from a school in different workbooks (each week the school is held, there is a separate Excel file for that week). Is there a way to extract the data and get the total score of each student into one sheet?

Example- Sample 2.xls and Sample 3.xls files attached are almost identical. Except that in Sample 3 some more students came to class. I need a way to get the total (or Year To Date) score of say student "Blake" or student "Joshua".

    Please advise.

    Thanks,
    Santhosh

I do not understand what your expected answer is, or where you want it to go. Please draw up a template for your answer, and show it IN PLACE in an Excel sheet, with some mocked-up results.

    Re: Score from Different ScoreSheets

Hi ... Thanks Glenn for taking the time to reply. To simplify, I want to pull the scores of each student from say 26 different sheets and make a report card out of it. So I need to know how we can extract data from each of the sheets and pull it into one sheet and then make a Total Score sheet.
I've attached another file with this thread that is called Sample 4.xls. In the Total Tab I want the total of all the scores for Blake Or Josh or any of the kids.

    Hope it is clear.

    Thanks,

    Re: Score from Different ScoreSheets

My first effort didn't work. However, I did make both sample sheets consistent, in terms of sheet names, spacings, column numbers, etc. Not needed, but a good habit to have.

Download all 3 to one location. You might need to change the path in the formulae in sample 4 to suit your PC.

It does work OK, but it might get a bit (big bit??) slow with 26 sheets. Is this close to what you had wanted??

Thumbs up Re: Score from Different ScoreSheets

    Hi Glenn,
Thank you for working on this problem for me. Really appreciate it much!
Yes it seems to work for one or two sheets, but when I have 26 sheets, it becomes tedious to do that.

Is there any way to use VB scripts for this?

To make it simpler, I can manually copy and paste the data from 26 files into one sheet. This way, all we need to do is work on one sheet. But is there a way to extract the names of students and their scores?

    Thanks,

    Santhosh

    Re: Score from Different ScoreSheets

If it is all in one workbook... it is easy. I'm doing other things for a while. Can you mock up a workbook with a couple of sets of raw data and a results sheet? I'll take it from there.
