Question Using lists - is this possible?

So I've tried searching for this but I am not sure what to write as a search description.

Basically this is the scenario I've got a stocks and shares spreadsheet. Column A has the stock tickers and the other columns use vlookups to another sheet which is a giant data dump page to pull through things like debt, sales, earnings growth etc but in a more presentable fashion.

At present I've got a separate sheet for each ticker list, i.e. S&P 500, FTSE 100 etc. What I'd like to do is just have one sheet with a drop down box at the top of the sheet that selects the index and then populates the column below with the stock tickers for that index. I should also add that both the data dump and the nice tidy sheet are set up as tables. The other thing is, as you may have guessed is that one list is 500 long and the other only 100 so is it possible to automatically resize the table depending which list you choose?

    Many thanks in advance.

This doesn't sound too difficult especially if we use some clever naming conventions for the tables. However, it would help a lot to see how the data are organized. Could you provide a sample workbook? It can definitely be done with VBA. There may also be a possible solution using INDIRECT and / or Array functions.

Attach a sample workbook. Make sure there is just enough data to demonstrate your need. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are shown, mock them up manually if necessary.

    Remember to desensitize the data.

Click on GO ADVANCED and then scroll down to Manage Attachments to open the upload window.
One spreadsheet to rule them all. One spreadsheet to find them. One spreadsheet to bring them all and at corporate, bind them.

A picture is worth a thousand words, but a sample spreadsheet is more likely to be worked on.
