Custom Number - Combine Attirbutes of Currency & Accounting

Hello,

I would like to create a custom number that combines attributes from Currency & Accounting. I like the spacing for the dollar sign ($) when using Currency (flush to the number), but I like the dash attribute from accounting to represent zeros. Is it possible to create a hybrid of the two using Custom? I would like positives to be displayed as $1,000, Negatives to be displayed as ($1,000) and zero's to be displayed as just the - (dash).

Is that possible?

Guidelines for creating custom number formats: https://support.office.com/en-us/art...2-09fab54be7f4 It sounds like it should be straightforward by applying the appropriate number format code to each section of the number format code.
