COUNTIF Help Needed

I am trying to count actual dates within the current week, for example, NTPs uploaded by the customer. Can I use the COUNTIF(S) function? I am not sure how to automate getting the current week’s (SUN to SAT) dates.
I am stuck at =COUNTIFS(T:T,”A”,S:S, ??). Is it possible without using a pivot table.

In the snapshot below, I want to be able to know the current actual ("A" from column T) for the current NTPs (date received in column S)

I suggest you add an extra column holding the week number of the dates by WEEKNUM-function.
Assuming the weeknumber is in column A the counting formula could then be something like

Thanks, Tsjallie. I added the week number column (U). What goes in the parentheses after TODAY?

Nothing. It is simply TODAY()

and that should tell me how many dates in Column S are actual (A) from Column T, this week (Sun 4/23 to Sat 4/29)?

I pasted your formula into S1, and the return was "0". I have highlighted the actual dates that should have been counted in the pic below (a total of fourteen)
