Unhappy How To Add/Vlookup same variable across multiple cells

    Good Evening Forum,

My name is Luis. I have some vlookups inserted in sheet2 and additions. My issue is, i am not sure how to drag the same formula across all the rows without impacting column "Req". I would like to be able to drag the formulas for item #7551320 across the rest of the items without chaning the "Req" column. Is there a formula without manually copying and pasting the formula? Your help is greatly appreciated.

What does go in the "Req" columns. There might be a work around that includes any formula that fills that field.

Also data needs to be cleaned up in column A sheet3. They are not all numbers. They are text "numbers". The headers in row1 of sheet2 need to be cleaned up. There are several stray characters (spaces?) in both locations.

    Hi Dave,

In the req column it would be just normal vlookup. They are txt number because that is how the item #'s are setup in the system. There are spaces because the cells are merged and formulas should work the merged cells. I am not sure if i helped out? Thank you for your reply.

Iqorri the point of my question lies in

If we know what that formula is we might be able to incorporatate it into such a formula as you describe. If you will share with us what the normal VLOOKUP formula is we might be able to confirm / rule out success at our end.

In the meantime try this formula in B3 and fill across.
    Formula: copy to clipboard

The "Vlu" is a placeholder for normal vlookup you mentioned. Just substitute that formula for the "Vlu" part of this formula.

BTW: Your profile shows Excel 2010. You've uploaded an *.xls file. That is an older file format. Do solutions need to work with older versions?

Hi- thank you for your help. In the req part it is numbers. I forgot that i copied and pasted the formula in numbers. For example REQ columns will be only 1,2,3 etc. The Formula works great but the issue is the req switches to vlu when i paste it.

Which is all it can do for the present.

Did you read my posts #4 and #5?

You will need to upload an updated file that reflects what you are describing.
