How to compare two sets of data from two different time periods

    Hello all!

I'm attempting to complete what I thought was a fairly straight forward process, but I'm running into some issues with. I am trying to compare data from two different time periods for the same account, but am running into a problem with the comparison duplicating the lines of data when the Account IDs are out of order, AND/OR it excludes Account IDs that don't appear in the Current Data tab but DO appear in the Previous Data tab. I've attached a sample of my data which has a Comparison tab, a Previous Data tab and Current Data tab. The Comparison tab stacks the data and shows improvement or decline in a particular firm's account performance. In the example, you will see in Column B that several of the Account IDs are repeated, which makes the data appear very confusing. Is there a formula that I can use to compare the data sets without repeating the Account IDs?

Thanks in advance for any and all help. Please let me know if I can clarify any of the information provided.

    Try this:

    To Attach a File:

    1. Scroll down to the window below your post Additional Options
    2. In the frame Attach Files you will see the button Manage Attachments
    3. Click the button.
    4. A new window will open titled Manage Attachments - Excel Forum.
    5. Click the Browse... button to locate your file for uploading.
    6. This will open a new window File Upload.
    7. Once you have located the file to upload click the Open button. This window will close.
    8. You are now back in the Manage Attachments - Excel Forum window.
    9. Click the Upload button and wait until the file has uploaded.
    10. Close the window and then click Submit.
Notice my main language is not English.

    Hey oeldere,

Thanks for posting this. I've had success in the past adding attachments, but every time I've attempted to add an attachment today, it has told me it failed. The file is less than five megs, in a .xlsm format and has no links or anything. I've tried on Chrome and IE, after clearing my cookies and restarting, with no success. Any additional thoughts?

    Thanks again!

Well, looks as though that is the problem... I didn't realize it had to be less than a meg. It's sitting at about 3500 KB right now and I'm trying to shrink it

I've managed to reduce the file size substantially. It's a very basic version of the file and hopefully helps.

    Thanks again!
