I've attached a worksheet which shows what I'm trying to do (without using arrays): show monthly sums of daily data.
It may be that I don't understand the eomonth function.
Could someone could point out the error(s) in my formula(s)?

Since you already have the last day of each month in column E, paste the following formula into F5, press the enter key and double click the fill handle to copy down:Formula:

Consider taking the time to add to the reputation of everybody that has taken the time to respond to your query.
Try using a Pivot Table and grouping the data by month/year. See your updated example.
