Returning most recent entries from a dataset

Hi,
In the attachment I have a dataset with 2 peoples names, a list of dates and a 'fruit' attached to each entry.
When typing the persons name into a cell I would like the table underneath to auto populate with data from the 3 most recent entries listed.
Obviously this depends on todays date as to which the most recent would be.
Would massively appreciate any pointers, this forum is always so good it blows my mind! Thank you for your help and efforts.

Try pasting the following array entered formula* into the formula bar while H8 is selected:
Formula: copy to clipboard

* Activate by simultaneously pressing the Ctrl, Shift and Enter keys before copying down to H10.
Select the range H8:H10 and apply conditional formatting so that if the value in any of those cell is equal to zero the font will be white.
Paste the following array entered formula* into I8, remember to use the CSE activation before you copy down:
Formula: copy to clipboard

azumi Sorry for off-topic interjection:

Although there is no official rule regarding this behavior, we request that wherever possible both the question AND the answer be provided in substantive detail here within the thread. An attached workbook is an excellent aid for posing a question and offering a solution, but solely doing that with no in thread explanation makes it difficult for researchers to understand or consider the Q & A of this thread without downloading what may be a pointless doc to them, if they can do that at all. Doing that also hides the content from search engines so others may never benefit from this.

I'm sure you understand, and we look forward to seeing you post your formulas/macros in your posts for the searching benefit of all.

Thanks again for all your hard work here!
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
2. If your question is resolved, mark it SOLVED using the thread tools
3. Click on the star if you think someone helped you

Sorry about that.
I thought I had given an overview of the issue in the post, but clearly not detailed enough.
It was a tough one to explain and rather than waiting for someone to ask for a downloadable example I thought I would pre-empt that by posting the example straight away.
Noted and understood.
Thanks
Chris
