How to maintain the formula driven cells values while sorting

    Dear All

I have a set of data in columnar format where each cell in each column is linked to my source-data sheet by a formula. Some of these formulas are straight links (i.e. cell address in the source-data sheet) and some are through INDEX function converts either columns values to rows, rows to columns, or linking columns data in reverse order to certain rows.
When I try to sort on one of the column's heading, the data is sorted but instead of maintaining each cell's value, I get unexpected values.
I have tried to copy the data and paste as values (i.e independent of formulas, just containing the returned values) and then sort. it worked well. But, this is a manual step which I am trying to avoid.
What sorting options are available while cells are linked to the source-data? I appreciate your assistance.

    Thanks
    Simon

It's difficult to visualize how this is set up. Maybe a named dynamic range or table will solve the issue. I don't think we can tell without seeing how the data and formulas are laid out.

Attach a sample workbook. Make sure there is just enough data to demonstrate your need. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are shown, mock them up manually if necessary.

    Remember to desensitize the data.

Click on GO ADVANCED and then scroll down to Manage Attachments to open the upload window.
One spreadsheet to rule them all. One spreadsheet to find them. One spreadsheet to bring them all and at corporate, bind them.

A picture is worth a thousand words, but a sample spreadsheet is more likely to be worked on.
