    Complex Lookup HELP

    Hi,

I need to create a formula which does the following:

    -Type job code in cell
-Formula looks up the job code in different workbook
-Determine pay grade for job code
-Determine pay zone for job code
-Return the pay rate at the given pay grade a zone

I have attached the "different workbook" referred to above

    Thanks!

    Re: Complex Lookup HELP

This is being made more complext than it needs to be by having 3 tables on two sheets. Is it OK to make a single table?

No, it is the format of an external document, I can't change it.

    Try

    D2

    =INDEX(Sales!$B$3:$D$5,MATCH(Jobs!$B2,Sales!$A$3:$A$5,0),Jobs!$C2)

    D3

    =INDEX('Non Sales'!$B$3:$D$5,MATCH(Jobs!$B3,'Non Sales'!$A$3:$A$5,0),Jobs!$C3)

    D4

    =INDEX('Non Sales'!$B$9:$D$11,MATCH(Jobs!$B4,'Non Sales'!$A$9:$A$511,0),Jobs!$C4)

Change "Exec" table headings to those in "Jobs"

Glenn has combined these for you!!

    Rule 08: Cross-posting Without Links

Your post does not comply with Rule 8 of our Forum RULES. Do not cross-post your question on multiple forums without including links here to the other threads on other forums.

Cross-posting is when you post the same question in other forums on the web. The last thing you want to do is waste people's time working on an issue you have already resolved elsewhere. We prefer that you not cross-post at all, but if you do (and it's unlikely to go unnoticed), you MUST provide a link (copy the url from the address bar in your browser) to the cross-post.

Expect cross-posted questions without a link to be closed and a message will be posted by the moderator explaining why. We are here to help so help us to help you!

Read this to understand why we ask you to do this, and then please edit your first post to include links to any and all cross-posts in any other forums (not just this site).

No further help to be offered, please, until the OP has complied with this request.

    Re: Complex Lookup HELP

You still have not provided the cross-post links requested above and you have just had a third version if this thread closed as a duplicate. You really need to start abiding by the forum rules.
