I have done it for you this time. Next time you MUST do it yourself. You have been a member long enough now to know what is expected of you.

Highlight cell rules -> equals to -> enter the date in correct format
if you can pls clarify the correct date format
I don't think the advice was very clear, but neither is your request.
Do you want to highlight cells with just that date, or all cells with that date or later?
And which is your current cell format type ? Please up your file :">
i don't know what wrong i am doing ,
only i want to do is highlight a cell when the date reaches to 10-Aug-17
You still haven't told us exactly what you have tried, so it's not even possible to guess what you have done wrong.
Will you please attach a sample Excel workbook?
1. Make sure that your sample data are REPRESENTATIVE of your real data. The use of unrepresentative data is very frustrating and can lead to long delays in reaching a solution.
2. Make sure that your desired solution is also shown (mock up the results manually).
3. Make sure that all confidential data is removed or replaced with dummy data first (e.g. names, addresses, E-mails, etc.).
4. Try to avoid using merged cells as they cause lots of problems.
Unfortunately the attachment icon doesn't work at the moment, so to attach an Excel file you have to do the following: just before posting, scroll down to Go Advanced and then scroll down to Manage Attachments. Now follow the instructions at the top of that screen.
Please pay particular attention to point 2 (above): without an idea of your intended outcomes, it is often very difficult to offer appropriate advice.
I have attached the sheet for your reference with the desired results i want to get
Set up a formula CF rule for each cell. CF rule for C6:
=TODAY()=DATE(2017,8,10)
and for C7:
=TODAY()=DATE(2017,7,28)
No, it doesn't, not with the formula I have suggested and the OP is using.
