COLUMN formula off when adding a new column

IF($Z$18=FALSE,"",INDEX(Aux1::$B$5:$M$5,1,COLUMN()÷2+1))

This is my current formula that sits in A20 that has worked but I had to add a column in each section and it seems the formula is now off. It’s reporting the results one place to the left wrong. I’m assuming it’s because of the added column. I’m not sure how to edit this as the \2 +1 is confusing so if someone could help explain and provide help that be great!

It would be easier if you showed some sample data.

If you are 1 column out, add an extra column to the formula? Make it +2 instead of +1?
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)

Re: COLUMN formula off when adding a new column

So my formula (written above) is in A20 and the next formula would be in D20, G20, J20 This formula is basically reading from another table that picks out the winner in the Aux1 sheet.

The Aux1

Name(A2) Eddie (B2) Joe Nick (D2)
Tiebreaker(A3) 27000(B3) 21000 300000
Score (A4) 8 (b4) 4 10
Winner(A5) Null(B5) Winner!

So the winner is Nick but in the table above the winner SHOULD appear in G20, but instead it's showing as the winner is A20. It's showing actually 2 places to the left

Attach a sample workbook. Make sure there is just enough data to demonstrate your need. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are shown, mock them up manually if necessary.

Remember to desensitize the data.
