    Chart Data Entries

I have prepared an Excel chart to monitor blood pressure; morning, noon and night. The daily readings show okay but after the last entry, the chart lines dive to the bottom of the chart for the remainder of the dates. Not serious as regards the data but looks awful. Can anyone give me the tip to have the chart lines stop at the last entry...?

Thanks in advance for any help...

    Ed

    Re: Chart Data Entries

Thanks Sandy, but can you tell me where...?

This formula is used to produce the morning sample reading: =SERIES("Morning",'Systolic Chart'!$C$4:$C$35,'Systolic Chart'!$D$4:$D$34,1)

Please be patient with me. I'm over 80 and it's many years since I messed with Excel...!!

    Ok, no problem
Could you attach example excel file (not a picture) ?

To attach a Excel file to your post,
    • click Go Advanced,
    • scroll down until you see Manage Attachments,
    • click that and select Browse,
    • select your file and click Open,
    • click Upload and you will see your attachment below Upload Files from a website
    • click Close this window,
    • click Submit reply

After that you should see attachment in your post

    Re: Chart Data Entries

    .....................
your formula contain an #REF! error. You hide it by Conditional formatting but chart read it as blank cell or not recognized value so there was line fall down to x-axis
#N/A must be visible for chart and you can hide it by CF (btw. enough to make font white without background ) but it must be there
eg. your serie range of values for Morning is ='Pulse Pressure'!$E$4:$E$34 and it should contain values or N/A only (not any other things) from the start to the end

The last thing you do is formatting. Do it only when everything is working properly

    for Diabolic BP
before: and after before chart and after chart
    before.jpg after.jpg beforechart.jpg afterchart.jpg
    see differences?
