Need to create a Data Validation (list) Formula

Hi There,

I am trying to work on a quoting formula, so that when i select a number from a drop down list it has a value i.e.: 1 = 500, 2 = 1000, and 3 = 1500 and so forth...

I need it so that it will also automatically calculate a total in a separate column for example:

Traffic Controllers require : 4
Utes Required: 2
Trucks Required: 2
Arrowboards required: 1
Total: $2515.00

Please help....
