drop down list working by magic

    Good day
I downloaded an attendance template https://www.vertex42.com/ExcelTempla...dance-template. And cannot figure out how to change the order in the Months drop down list. As school starts in September not in August (School holidays here is July - August). I looked in all the usual places : name manager, data validation, development combo box. Looked for hidden sheets, hidden sections on a sheet. But what ever method that is used to order the month list is just beautiful magic. Can anyone please help me to reorder this list. I want the month drop down list to start with September and end with August. I know that I can create a new drop down list and order it as I wish, but I want to understand what they did.

    Thanks for your assistance.

    Good day
Having trouble attaching a file. I am clicking the Attachment Icon but nothing. So I added another link to my google drive to the file.

Select the cell with the months in then select Data / Data Validation. You'll see the values for the drop down lists have been hard coded into the "Source" box of the dialog that pops up and you can change the order there to suit.

    Hope that helps.

    (Solved)
Thank you all . The message that was a warning that data validation was not set for all data items, just click yes and adjust the order of the list.

    Thanks for your time.

    Happy to help.

By the way, that warning message only pops up because the cells were merged.
