    Question IF a name appears in an area, return 1, but add all together, alternatively leave blank

    I am lookin for a formula to calculate the number of times a name appears in a table.
    IF a name appears in an area, return total time name appears, so if name appears twice then should return 2, alternatively leave blank
    can anyone help? I am new to excel. :-)

    This will check how many times the name Mungo appears in range A1 to A100.
