Maintain local links when uploading a file to sharepoint

I copy templates from a shared drive on my computer and upload them to sharepoint for people outside my office to update once a month. When I upload to sharepoint the links change from "='Y:\" to "='http://teamsites." The file it's linking to does not exist on sharepoint. For further explanation of the process the people who prepare the templates have no access to the master file on the local shared drive so I want it to retain whatever values were in it at last save. The people who review the templates on sharepoint do have access to the local shared master file so I would like them to have the ability to update the links to see if they've changed. Is there a way to accomplish this?

I'm just go to build queries which link to an access db which has this information. Essentially removing all links to outside documents. I'll set them up to refresh in the background when the macros are ran in the file. I don't want anyone doing a manual replace of any formula because then I would have to leave them unlocked. thanks for the help though.
