Question Question: Auto consolidate/transpose duplicate ID rows with unique descriptor columns

Hi all. Through a colleague (who also doesn't know how to handle this), I'm looking at some raw data I'm hoping I can turn into something meaningful/workable, but I don't know how to do it. I'm trying to figure out if I'm missing something in basic functions that will let me do this.

I have different descriptors tied to multiple duplicate IDs, for example (in two columns, and >1k rows):

    12345 | Apple
    12345 | Orange
    23456 | Broccoli
    23456 | Lettuce
    23456 | Cucumber
    56789 | Sausage
    56789 | Turkey
    56789 | Ham
    56789 | Bologna

And I want to format like so (creating as many columns as necessary, eliminating duplicate ID rows, and transposing their descriptors into a single row), without manually copying and pasting with the transpose function for >1k rows.

    12345 | Apple | Orange
    23456 | Broccoli | Lettuce | Cucumber
    56789 | Sausage | Turkey | Ham | Bologna

    Recommendations? Thank you!

I know this is not exactly what you show in your post but maybe PivotTable will be more flexible for future.
add new record to the table then refresh PivotTable
