I have a failry urgent problem to solve. I am having trouble working out how to construct a new table based on the elements of an existing table. I'm pretty sure it's a combination of VLOOKUP and MATCH but it could also use INDEX. The existing master table and 'new' tables to be generated are below.
Assume here that all tables are on separate worksheets and start at column A, row 1. (so headings are row 1 and data is row 2). Alternatively the new tables can go below the master table.
I wish to construct three new tables for Engine 1, Engine 2 and Engine 3 based on the indicator 'x' in the master table. These new tables are shown below the master table. Any clue on how to help? I am not sure if a VB script is useful here or just some well placed formulas would work. I am failing with using VLOOKUP and MATCH. Any help appreciated:
