    Lookup question

I have used VLOOKUP and simple index/matches in the past but I am having difficulties making something work

in column A I have a bunch of numbers, which I am trying to match against values in Column J. Once matched, I want it to spit me out the value in Column I - but one row below where the match is.

    How do I do this?

    Re: Lookup question

    Hi,

Use the =INDEX(MATCH()) construction but with the row part of the index add 1 to the Match()

    i.e.

    Formula: copy to clipboard

    Re: Lookup question

awesome, thank you. I realized too I could have just offset the two columns by one row and solved a lot of problems for myself
