    Over/under time issue

    Hi,

I'm trying to get a very basic column to compare the time allocated to do a job and the time taken, a simple =sum(L2-H2) works fine is the job has overrun and will give me a 0:04 e.g. if the job was 4 minutes over, but if it was completed quicker than the allocated time then I just get a load of hashtags.

How do I get this to show me overrun and under time?

    I have attached the spreadsheet.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, I thought it would just be a simple function and I can't get my head round it.

    Hi there,

Take a look at the attached version of your workbook and see if it does what you need.

It uses a helper column (L) which may be hidden if required.

Hope this helps - please let me know how you get on.

    Regards,
