INDEX MATCH Lookup and Combine/Add Multiple Values

Hi,

I know how to use INDEX MATCH, but I have never tried looking up multiple values and adding them together in the same cell for a monthly budget spreadsheet and can't seem to find anything online. I want it to look up all the cases of "Football" etc. and add those amounts in one cell.

Help is greatly appreciated. Please see example attached, it is a Google Sheet document I have downloaded in Excel format

Did you consider trying SUMIF?

D28: =SUMIF(Transactions!$D$5:$D$17,B28,Transactions!$C$5:$C$17)
