Trying to combine two formulas together

Hi, any help would be much appreciated.

My aim is to count the number of time s a specific word appears that is not 'strikethrough'.

I can use 'CountIFS' to calculate the number of times the word appears and to count the 'CountStrike' to determine the number of values that have been struck through in a specific area, using these two formulas to determine how may times the specific word appears i can simply do a subtraction to get my answer. However i am struggling to combine the formulas together.

If anyone has any idea how to do this or another function that you know of that would do the trick and would like to share this information with me i would very much appreciate this.

    Many Thanks

CountStrike is not a built-in function. I found one example online where it is a VBA function so I assume that is what you're using.

Do you have one word per cell? Is the strikethrough applied to entire cells, or just part of cells?

You could modify CountStrike as follows:

I added the code supplied by Jeff and this formula in G2

    =F2-CountStrikeWord($B$2:$B$281,E2)

    Copy down
