Moving data only based on text content in reference cells

Hi.

I have a challenge/problem...

I want to move data from D colomn to J through M columns, based on customers name in I, matched up against customers name in E, regardless of the order of customers in E.
The only "static" columns are I, and cells J1 through M1
There will only be one itemX for each costumer, but the order is random.
The moving of values is in other words based on the reference text in E column and A column
Hard to explain, but I thing the screenshot will make it clearer.

welcome to the forum. do upload an excel sample so that we do not have to manually key in your data to do a testing.

input the desired results so that we don't have to second-guess if what we are doing is correct or not. you may look at my signature to upload an eg that is easier to understand. your explanations dont seem to match what you input there. why is K2 = D3. K2 is for Customer1 and Item2. D3 is Customer3 for Item2.

the upload attachment must be done by going to Go Advanced. click on Manage Attachments. Choose file, upload and close the window.

if i really guessed it wrongly, please upload something according to my recommendations. try to use the solution i have given and we'll help to advise what went wrong.

in J2, this gives you what you have on the screen
=INDEX($D:$D,1+COLUMNS($J$2:J2)+(ROWS($J$2:J2)-1)*4)

or in J2, this gives the particular customer and item number:
=SUMIFS($D:$D,$E:$E,$I2,$A:$A,J$1)
