Excel 2016: Filter for specific number of characters

I have a worksheet I would like to filter based on 1 column of data - column A
Column A has a variety of data of varying lengths. I want to see only the fields that have 5 or 6 characters of data (combination of alpha and numeric).
Can I do this using a filter?

Create a helper column using the formula =LEN(A2) then filter based on that column.

Another option would be to create a custom filter.

Highlight column A > Data > Filter > Text Filters > Custom Filter
