    Delete all characters in the cell except the first 5

    Hi Everyone,

    I have a list of 2000 cost codes and the respective team names:

    4C473 - RURAL LIAISON GRANTS
    4R402 - AUDIT SERVICES TEAM
    4R525 - MRBS

    Any chance to delete any characters after the 5th in all 2000 lines?

    hi there. assuming the data starts in cell A1, try this in cell B1:
    =LEFT(A1,5)

    copy the formula down. copy and paste the values in column B. delete column A
