MAX IF between dates

Along the left side you can see I have every date starting with 1917 until now. I was to get the MAX number that falls in each month. I am trying to write a formula to say select the max if between 1/1/1917 and 1/31/1917. I will place this formula in cell K15 so I can drag it down and in the next cell it will say between 2/1/1917 and 2/28/1917. the formula i use for average in cell J15 is: =AVERAGEIFS($B$15:$B$36519,$A$15:$A$36519,">="&I15,$A$15:$A$36519,"<"&EOMONTH(I15,0)+1) Can someone help me with this formula?

It can probably be done with an array formula. Please attach the workbook so we have data to work with.

Attach a sample workbook. Make sure there is just enough data to demonstrate your need. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are shown, mock them up manually if necessary.

Remember to desensitize the data.

Click on GO ADVANCED and then scroll down to Manage Attachments to open the upload window.
