IF one cell contains specific value, then another cell equals the cell next to it.

I have 9000 product codes, which many of are the same product with different variants. i have another list of product codes which is only around 1500 codes long, this does not contain the variants of the product, but it still contains the beginning part of the variant product code.

For example i may have a baseball cap which is product code 3500, but a blue one is 35001, a red one is 35002 and so forth.

The short Product code has a description of each product in the cell next to it which i need for each product variant.

the problem is each product has a different amount of variants, so it isn't as simple as inserting a set amount of cells.

I need to be able to make it so if the long product code contains the short product code, then the cell equals the cell next to it (which contains the description)

Apologies if the description doesn't make much sense.

    Thanks in advance.

It makes sense, but will you please attach a sample Excel workbook? We are not able to work with or manipulate a picture of one and nobody wants to have to recreate your data from scratch.

Unfortunately the attachment icon doesn't work at the moment, so to attach an Excel file you have to do the following: just before posting, scroll down to Go Advanced and then scroll down to Manage Attachments. Now follow the instructions at the top of that screen.
