Create an Agenda or similar Using Vlookup or index Match

    Hello,
Im trying to create na agenda using a data base with date, Name and hour.

i have a worksheet named matrix with column A, Date; Column B, Name and Column C Hour.

On the other worksheet i have na agenda with the date Today.

I would like to use a formula to search de database and paste the all the info with that date.
I tried to use Vlookup but that didnt work because i have same dates with diferente names and hours.

Any help would be very apreciated.

    Thanks

Attach a sample workbook. Make sure there is just enough data to demonstrate your need. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are shown, mock them up manually if necessary.

    Remember to desensitize the data.

Click on GO ADVANCED and then scroll down to Manage Attachments to open the upload window.

    In A5

    =IFERROR(INDEX(Matrix!C$2:C$1000,SMALL(IF(Matrix!$A$2:$A$1000=$C$2,ROW(Matrix!$A$2:$A$1000)-ROW($A$2)+1,""),ROWS($A$2:A2))),"")

    in B5

    =IFERROR(INDEX(Matrix!B$2:B$1000,SMALL(IF(Matrix!$A$2:$A$1000=$C$2,ROW(Matrix!$A$2:$A$1000)-ROW($A$2)+1,""),ROWS($A$2:B2))),"")

    Enter BOTH

..confirmed by pressing CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER to activate the array, not just ENTER. You will know the array is active when you see curly braces { } appear around your formula. If you do not CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER you will get an error or a clearly incorrect answer.

This sorts the agenda into time order. Both formulae are array formulae.

    A5, copied down:
    =IF($C$2="","",IFERROR(SMALL(IF(Matrix!$A$2:$A$300=C$2,Matrix!$C$2:$C$300),ROWS(A$4:A4)),""))

    B5,copied down:
    =IF(A5="","",INDEX(Matrix!B:B,SMALL(IF((Matrix!$A$2:$A$300=C$2)*(Matrix!$C$2:$C$300=A5),ROW(Matrix!$C$2:$C$300)),COUNTIF(A$5:A5,A5))))

    Ooops. Hit "Reply" to soon.

Array Formulae are a little different from ordinary formulae in that they MUST be confirmed in the FIRST CELL ONLY by pressing CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER to activate the array, not just ENTER. After that, the array can be dragged down as normal, to cover the desired range.

You will know the array is active when you see curly brackets { } - or "curly braces" for those of you in the USA, or "flower brackets" for those of you in India - appear around the outside of your formula. If you do not use CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER you will (almost always) get an error message or an incorrect answer. Press F2 on that cell and try again.

Don't type the curly brackets yourself - it won't work...
