    Vlookup is noy populating consistently

Vlookup works intermittently. Cell 1 may be correct. Cell 2 may be 0, N/A, or a value from the wrong cell.

    Example is attached.

    Re: Vlookup

Welcome to the forum! Please take a moment to re-read forum rule #1 and then amend your thread title to something that better explains your problem. Changing your thread title is not optional, which means you must change it. Thanks!

    • Use concise, accurate thread titles.
    • Your post title should describe your problem, not your anticipated solution.
    • Use terms appropriate to a Google search - poor thread titles, like Please Help, Urgent, Need Help, Formula Problem, Code Problem, and Need Advice tell us nothing.
    • Responding to a request to change your thread title by doing so is mandatory.

To change a title go to your first post, click EDIT then Go Advanced and change your title.

No help to be offered, please, until the OP complies with this request.

    Change to

    =VLOOKUP(B2,$E$2:$F$60,2,0)

    (Hope title change is OK!)

Ok. Mostly works but cell D25 (Item 2299) returned N/A even though there is a value in F25

    Thanks

The value in B25 appears to be stored as a real number, instead of a 'number stored as text' like the rest of the values in column B.

    Try
    =VLOOKUP(B2&"",$E$2:$F$60,2,0)

Thank you both. At least now I have the right Note with the right Item. Still can't cut up the note with Text to Columns and then pick out the relevant parts due to the formatting but I can do it manually (6200 times).

    thanks.
