Formula to autofill a field based on a code

    Hello,

So, I'm good at math based formulas but have no idea on logic/search/etc...

Here's what I want to do.

On sheet two I have two columns. Column A has codes (F9.1, L8.2, etc), column B has a sentence related to each code. On sheet one, I have an evaluation for my students. One of the fields is "observations". I would like to be able to put one of the codes into this box and have the sentence related to this code show up.

If anyone has ideas about how I can make this happen, please, let me know.

    Thanks in advance.

That would be VLOOKUP ( for simplicity ) or INDEX/MATCH ( some would say, for efficiency )

    Formula: copy to clipboard
