Formatting dates with conditional formatting

Hi Guys,

I've been reading up on google about conditional formatting and have incorporated them into my spreadsheet of dates to highlight the following :-

Expired Dates - older than the current date
Nearing Expiry - dates that will expire within the next 6 months from current date
Valid dates - any dates that have 6 months forward from the current date

However I am having issues with it highlighting dates from 2018 which should be expired as nearing expiry

My Formatting rules are configures as Cell Value, Less than. I have attached my rules and a screenshot of my spreadsheet highlighting the dates incorrectly.

Any help will be much appreciated, I am tearing my hair out ^_^
