    Forecast Formula Quetion

    Hello All,

I am currently using the forecast formula in excel 2016.

It works fine if I have all the data in the same row, however i need the formula to pick up data in 3 different rows as indicated in my attachment.

So i need the formula to pick up the data for 2016, 2017 & 2108. Here is the formula I am currently using. This picks up the data for 2017 only. I tried appending the 2016 and 2018 data as a series, but no luck.

    =FORECAST.ETS(CG3,$BU$6:$CF$6,$BU$3:$CF$3,1,1)

Can someone help me with this please?

    Thanks!

    Re: Forecast Formula Quetion

Forgot to mention... I can't have all the data in the same row as I have other formulas looking up the data/month/year, so if I have it all in the same row, then I will have the same result returned for Jan/Feb 2017/2018.

    Thanks.

    Re: Forecast Formula Quetion

Probably the easiest way to handle this is to create another sheet (that may be hidden) and have formulas back to this sheet to make everything come out in one row and use that for the source of the Forecast formula.
One spreadsheet to rule them all. One spreadsheet to find them. One spreadsheet to bring them all and at corporate, bind them.

A picture is worth a thousand words, but a sample spreadsheet is more likely to be worked on.

Thank you for your suggestion dflak.

This might be a bot problematic as it's a huge spreadsheet and I have lots of other formulas referencing this set of data.

I'll try it and see how it works anyways.
