    How to Calculate Hotel room nights booked, for each night, and broken down by room type?

    Hello All you wonderful Excel Masterminds!

    For a while now, I've been using a formula to calculate the total hotel room nights booked based on arrival and departure dates. I also need to breakdown the results even further to include different room types.

    I've included a sample document (names have been changed to protect privacy) for your review

    You may reference the following link for a simplistic sample.

    Thank you!

    Attach a sample workbook. Make sure there is just enough data to demonstrate your need. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are shown, mock them up manually if necessary.

    In attached Excel file try not use:
    • merged cells
    • unnecessary formatting like: colours, borders, aligning another than default, etc...
    • unnecessary zoom
    You have words to logically describe the problem

    To attach an Excel file to your post,
    • desensitize data
    • remeber that your example should reflect structure and type of data
    • click Go Advanced,
    • scroll down until you see Manage Attachments,
    • click that and select Browse,
    • select your file and click Open,
    • click Upload and you will see your attachment below Upload Files from a website
    • click Close this window,
    • click Submit reply

    After that you should see attachment in your post

    Hi!
    I use helper columns R:AA to list days with booking. You can hide them if you will.

    In D4, I combine SUMPRODUCT with COUNTIFS, since TDN also shows as DBL/DBL.

    D44=SUMPRODUCT(COUNTIFS(R$5:R$33,D$42,$L$5:$L$33,{"TDN","DBL/DBL"}))
    Copy across.

    In D51, COUNTIFS only:

    D51=COUNTIFS(R$5:R$33,D$49,$L$5:$L$33,"TKN")
    Copy across.
