Really appreciate your help. I've attached an example for what I'm looking for. I have unique IDs for each person, but there are multiple rows for certain people who obviously will have the same ID. How do I get the lookup values in the VLOOKUP to match up with the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc. occurrence. I think I might have to use an index/match function, but I don't really understand how they work. Thanks!

VLOOKUP returns the first value it matches. For multiple returns try this formula in cell B4 and fill down and across to C17.Formula:

I'm confused why you would start in row 4? I'm also confused why it would only go down to row 17. Can you tell me the formula how it would work if I was trying to get the desired result in columns F and G? Thank you for your help!

...confirmed by pressing CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER to activate the array, not just ENTER. You will know the array is active when you see curly braces { } appear around your formula. If you do not CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER you will get an error or a clearly incorrect answer.Please Login or Register to view this content.
