    Finding smaller of two non-sequentiual cell values

    Hello,
    Thank you for being here! I have used Excel since the -90's, but am definitely NOT well-versed in it. I have usually only performed basic tasks. Now I have the need to find the smaller of two values. For example, make cell C16 equal the smaller of either Cell H45 or cell H64. Assume there are other data in cell H46 through H63, so those cells are not relevant. I'm assuming SMALL cannot be used because of this fact (i.e. cells between H46&H63 are NOT an ARRAY we care about).

    Is there a fairly uncomplicated way to achieve this?

    The simplest way is probably this in C16:

    =MIN(H45,H64)

    Thanx! I looked at MIN but for some reason decided that wouldn't work (I told you I wasn't good at Excel!).I am doing a spreadsheet to figure my taxes...
