How to auto-link cell of two sheets through unique values?

Hi all, I'm new to Excel and new here too.

What I Need To Do: I want to put a hyperlink (clickable) in all of the cells in one column of one sheet that when clicked, the row in other sheet that has similar unique id will be shown or highlighted, at least shown.

Another explanation: The user_id columns in both sheets need to be linked, those are unique. So if I clicked on any value of user_id in Sheet#2, I will be redirected to the Sheet #1's row that has that user_id that I clicked on.

What I have tried so far: I tried to try the VBScript but that would require me some time to learn although I'm a software developer And I really need some help to do this soon. I tried also my luck in "editing hyperlinks" but I did that manually, I mean in my real workbook, I have a thousand of data.

I've read that I can use MS Access but I'm using Mac and there's no MS Access here.

Maybe use a vlookup to bring the data to the one sheet rather than trying to switch between the two sets of data?

Hi thank you for the reply. With Vlookup, is it possible to do what I want? When I tap on a user_id value in Sheet#2, I will get the row of the Sheet#1 with that user_id value? If only I have a hundred of data and not thousand, I'll link these two sheets manually, row by row. The workbook was made from a database by the way.

Please upload a sample of your workbook, not a picture of your data. Pictures are pretty much impossible to edit, and no-one wants to re-type your data for you
Also, not all members can upload picture files (Company firewalls and stuff) - and, depending on what browser is being used, some pics dont even show up on the forum

Your workbook should show a small desensitized example of the data you are working with and a manual mockup of the expected results.

Hi FDibbins, oh yes sorry, I didn't think about that. I have uploaded a small sample workbook on Dropbox, and edited the link a bit because I'm not allowed yet to post a link. I couldn't attach any file too. Thank you so much! Hoping to get some more replies to my thread.

You can attach a sample by clicking Go Advanced then Manage Attachments then Upload

Thanks Kersplash. What I mean is that there seems to be an issue in attaching a file. Screen Shot 2018-02-22 at 3.45.02 PM.png Anyways I'm going to try it again on a windows PC. Also, I couldn't remove the dirty/large attachments from my first post, how to do that?

To attach a file to your post,
click advanced (next to quick post),
scroll down until you see "manage file",
click that and select "add files" (top right corner).
click "select files" find your file, click "open" click "upload" click 'done" bottom right. click "submit reply"

Once the upload is completed the file name will appear below the input boxes in this window.
You can then close the window to return to the new post screen.
