    Question INDEX match not working

    Hi guys,

I have an index match function which has worked for a lot of rows but not some - see example of the formula in the screenshot. Can anyone please advise?

    Thanks!

see bottom right hand corner: =INDEX('Panel Actions'!$K$2:$K$35,MATCH($P27,'Panel Actions'!$A$2:$A$35,0))

The Panel Actions sheet actually has data going into row 37 - but the data above suggests it goes to 35? If I change the number 35 to 37, it says 'REF#'!

    Re: INDEX match not working

As per your screen shot. I think the problem is due to merging of cells.
We will confirm only after seeing of actual file.

    Re: INDEX match not working

The column range wasn't long enough. Just use this:

    =INDEX('Panel Actions'!$K:$K,MATCH($P2,'Panel Actions'!$A:$A,0))

or at least use a range that is future-proof

    Why not ..

    =INDEX('Panel Actions'!$K$2:$K$37,MATCH($P2,'Panel Actions'!$A$2:$A$37,0))

    ???
