I have a series of columns such that...
The first four show some outcomes (A or B)
In the next four columns are some additional results - column 5 maps outcomes in 1, 6 maps outcomes in 2, 7 maps outcomes in 3 and 8 maps outcomes in column 4. Let's call these the 'partner' columns.
Now, in the final column, I want to select an outcome from one of the first four columns depending on the results in the next four.
So I want to say, use outcomes in this column (let's say the first, for example), and enter them in column 9, until outcome B appears.
After that cell, switch so that the next outcome is taken from the column with two increasing results in the two previous cells (above) in its 'partner column' (lets say the result numbers go from 5 to 6 or 3 to 4). And continue with outcomes from that column until the next B appears. Repeat to fade.
I will select the initial column - it may vary, but assume it's the first column of outcomes for the purposes of this explanation.
Here's a selection of data:
Outcomes Results Expected
A B B A 3 0 1 2 A
A B A B 4 0 2 2 A
A B B A 5 0 2 3 A
A B A B 6 0 3 3 A
B A A B 6 1 4 3 B trigger - go to 2
A B B A 7 1 4 4 B trigger - go to 4
A B A B 8 1 5 4 B trigger - go to 3
A B B A 9 1 5 5 B trigger - go to 4
B A B A 9 2 5 6 A stay on col 4
B A B A 9 3 5 7 A
B A B A 9 4 5 8 A
A B A B 10 4 6 8 B trigger - go to 3
A B B A 11 4 6 9 B trigger - go to 4
B A B A 11 5 6 10 A stay on col 4
B A B A 11 6 6 11 A
A B A B 12 6 7 11 B trigger - go to 3
Where there are two possible choices, as on the first trigger, I'm going for the lower increasing pair 0 and 1, rather than 3 and 4.
Many thanks in advance.
