    Conditional formatting if date is before today

    I would appreciate any assistance in achieving the following:
    I have a range of cells, H2..H1000, that are date values.
    I need to change the formatting to display the text in red if the date value is less than today()
    I've been fooling with it for days and cannot figure out how to get it to work.

    Appreciate any advice...

    Select the range

    Conditional Formatting
    New Rule
    Use a formula to determine...

    =AND(H2 > 0,H2 < TODAY())

    Format as required

    Ensure you describe your problem clearly, I have little time available to solve these problems and do not appreciate numerous changes to them.
