MEDIAN IF problem

I'm having a problem with the MEDIAN IF formula in the attached.

As far as I can see, the formula in E2 should be calculating the median from the numbers in C2:C4. That's because ID1 = 16 and ID2 = 1.

In fact, it seems to be calculating the lowest number.

Can anyone help please?

...confirmed by pressing CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER to activate the array, not just ENTER. You will know the array is active when you see curly braces { } appear around your formula. If you do not CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER you will get an error or a clearly incorrect answer.

Silly question, is there a knack to the CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER entry? I'm keying it, but nothing is happening.

You commit the formula from edit mode.
