Copy multiple cell data to new sheet with conditions and organization

Hello all. This is my first post for this particular need. I have tried to look through before posting this in case it's already been asked but I couldn't find exactly what I need. Hopefully I describe this accurately for you all. Thanks in advance for the help!

What I'm trying to accomplish
I work for a construction firm and we perform two types of work, CONTRACT and FABRICATION. As such, they have separate project numbers. My workbook is setup in 3 parts. Sheet 1 (CONTRACT) I have a list of projects with generated project numbers with their respective status'. Sheet 2 (FABRICATION) I have a list of projects with generated project numbers with their respective status'. Sheet 3 (POSTED LIST) is where I am hung up. In column A & B, I want it to copy over the list of FABRICATION projects but only if it meets a selected criteria of project status from Sheet 2 and in columns D & E, I want it to do the same thing but from Sheet 1 for CONTRACTS.

To be clear, I basically want to copy the whole list but have it omit the data that does not meet a criteria without inserting blank cells.

I'm really not sure to accomplish this and I hope I explained that clear enough for you all.

Try 2 pivot tables on your Posted List tab to populate your Project Number and Name from each tab. The pivot will allow you to select the records of the status that you choose. Omit blanks.

Thanks Pete. I'm not familiar with pivoting tables but I will try some tutorials and figure it out. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

The pivot table did not seem to provide the information in the format I needed. I also could not figure how to weed out the projects that did not meet the criteria. Welcome to any ideas, pointers or other ways of accomplishing this. Thanks!

try to recreate your design without merged cells
