Returning specific dates, ignoring already returned dates

    Hi,

I have a range of dates (Equipment expiry). I need to be able to look at this range, and return dates older than today (Anything expired).
The formula needs to be able to look over the range and return the next out of date, ignoring any previously found dates. This then needs to return the item that is expired and the name of the person it belongs to.

The formula I have tried is in the attachment and my brain is fried - I don't even know if it's close to doing what I want and I haven't even tried to return the person, or the item expiring.

Any help would be much appreciated

I think attaching what you want as the answer, with no formulas, will get you a quicker answer, I am not sure exactly what you want

Apologies, it's my fist time posting. Please see attached desired output.

It's basically a lookup of the dates, skipping any previously found dates.
I've tried the nth lookup, and can't get it to work

It can be done, but either as a macro, or if your details table was structured

    Name, item , date

    Person 1, item 1, date
    Person 1, item 2, date
    Person 1, item 3, date
    Person 1, item 4, date
    Person 2, item 1, date
    Person 2, item 2, date
    Person 2, item 3, date
    Person 2, item 4, date

    etc

is this possible and are 4 the maximum number of items that could be given a person?

The details table will more than likely contain up to 30 people and there could be up to 50 items.
I can't change the details table, as it will always be structured:

    Person / Item 1 / Item 2 / Item 3 etc

then it has to be a macro based approach

click the button and the table should populate. its better to clear the rows of data first
