I would like to hide data (text) of a cell until adjacent cell is no longer blank. I tried to use =IF(ISBLANK) formula, but the cell shows #NAME?
What am I doing wrong here?

Good afternoon bcattell3
Welcome to the forum!
ISBLANK will return TRUE or FALSE depending on the state of the cell, so that is what you must test for, thus :

I thought maybe conditional formatting...
in A2 (for example)
go to conditional formatting >> new rule >> use a formula to determine which cells to format >> =B2="" then click the format button and under the font tab select color equal to white then OK, OK and Apply, it may revert the formula to ="B2="""" and if it does go back in and remove the extra quotes so it looks like above and it will then make cell A2's text or number white with a white cell color so it will "disappear" until something is populated in B2.

Great, thanks, DominicB. It worked like a charm! I was missing the second set of quotes. Sambo, thanks, I might try conditional and see how that works, too.
