change of format

Hi All,

I wonder if I could get someone could point me in the right direction:

I am trying to find an easy way to change the format of forex price data from:

21 06 2018 23:00:00 94.878 94.884 94.845 94.866

to
2018.06.13 10:00 93.884 93.976 93.865 93.921 18501

The challenge is that the 1st column in bold has both date and time in 1 column and the date format is not with the dot and not recognized by excel. Can this only be done manually or can this be done by an formula / Macro?

Thanks you to anyone who could advise.

regards,
Ivo

Re: change of format

Hi, welcome to he forum

What you need to understand about dates and times in excel is…

a date is just a number representing the number of days passed since 1/1/900...and then formatted in a way that we recognize as a date. So, for instance, today (Thu 21 Jun 2018) is actually 43272

Time is actually a decimal part of 1 (day), so 06:00 AM is 0.25, 12 noon is 0.5 and 18:00 (or 6 PM) is 0.75

Also, it may help if you could upload a small (clean) sample workbook (not a pic) of what you are working with, and what your expected outcome would look like.
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)

Re: change of format

Thank you for the welcome and the reply!
I found the solution for me (text to column and then selecting the correct date).
I could not upload a sample as my add attachment button does not work.

In any case I have a vision to make a forex dashboard from excel with Netstation data and loading it into Mt4 (metatrader4) and I really appreciate this forum.
