    SUMIF problem

Hey boys, i am trying and trying and trying to make the SUMIF formula work. But i can't. So now i'm asking you, for help.

    Here is the problem:

    Example.PNG

I would like to sum Column 2, 4, 6 and 8 IF the actual cell does NOT contain N/A.

I am trying something like this: =SUMIF(C2,E2,G2,I2,"<>N/A",C2,E2,G2,I2) but it just doesn't work. Can anyone help me out here?

    Thank you so much!

    Re: SUMIF problem

I have already done that, and they does not cover how to use the formula on cells that are not next to each other on a row. That's the problem.

    I just used this formula;
    Formula: copy to clipboard

And it gave me 90 as the result.

    Re: SUMIF problem

No, but given the sample data, it doesn't matter - those columns are empty. This is why it's so important to provide realistic sample data - I imagine that in the real data they do contain data. Members here will offer solutions based on what they are given, not missing details.

It's a bit late now, but the title to this thread is very vague. Titles should be more descriptive of the problem.

    Re: SUMIF problem

    the original post already stated
which 4 columns are to be added up
-- implying we should skip data
    in any other columns.

for those who missed this implication,
OP came back in post #7 and stated it explicitly.

    Re: SUMIF problem

Yes, so why did the OP not provide sample data that matched the requirement? The visuals and the written requirement don't match - that's my point.

This is why it takes so long sometimes to reach what could have been a quick resolution. My comments are really for the OP to consider, and not meant as a criticism of any helpers in this thread.

    Re: SUMIF problem

This works (it ignores that N/A entries):

    =SUM(C2,E2,G2,I2)
