IF Find Formula with Multiple Condition

    Hi friends

I have attached the example worksheet. I want to find the specific text from a cell and if that's true, it should return the store name as mentioned in the formula. For some reason, it only works with first condition.

Thanks for your time and support.

Re: IF Find Formula with Multiple Condition

The first IF statement throws up a #VALUE error in A3, and Excel can't get past that, so you would have to use IFERROR around each IF statement and concatenate the results with &.

    Or you could use this:

    =LOOKUP(LEFT(B2,FIND(" ",B2)-1),{"D&G","Gucci"},{"D&G","Gucci"})

Make sure the lookup array is in alphabetical order.

    or:

    =IFERROR(LOOKUP(1000,SEARCH({"Gucci","D&G"},B2),{"Gucci","D&G"}),"")

Re: IF Find Formula with Multiple Condition

Hi. Firstly, thanks for the rep. 1000 is an (arbitrary) large number. SEARCH returns the position in the string of the first letter of Gucci (if present) or D&G (if present). Otherwise it returns an error. So, in your example it will return a 1 if Guccis is present. Lookup then looks for an exact match for 1000. there isn't one. If the LOOKUP function can not find an exact match, it chooses the largest value in the lookup range that is less than or equal to the value of 1000.
