Question Display the "Defined Name" of a cell in a cell when the cell reference is in a cell?

    Hello,
I created a scenario summary and in the Result Cells column, all I get is a cell reference.
Is there any way I can do a look up of that cell number located in the other tab called "PPM3..." so that the "Defined Name" of that cell in "PPM3" displays where I wrote the "?" in the "Scenario Summary" tab??

I've been searching the web for days, no luck, maybe I am not asking the right question, but I think it should be doable, right?
I also downloaded the Kutools toolbar but I don't think that would help.

PS: I don't know how to do macros, so if your solution involves a macro, please keep that in mind when explaining to me. I am willing to try anything as long as the steps are clear :-)

    Thanks so much in advance!

Rule 08: Cross-posting Without Telling Us

Your post does not comply with Rule 8 of our Forum RULES. Do not cross-post your question on multiple forums without telling us about your threads on other forums.

Post a link to any other forums where you have asked the same question. If you have fewer than 10 posts here, you will not be able to post a link, but you must still tell us where else you have asked the question.

Cross-posting is when you post the same question in other forums on the web. The last thing you want to do is waste people's time working on an issue you have already resolved elsewhere. We prefer that you not cross-post at all, but if you do (and it's unlikely to go unnoticed), you MUST provide a link (copy the url from the address bar in your browser) to the cross-post.

Expect cross-posted questions without a link to be closed and a message will be posted by the moderator explaining why. We are here to help so help us to help you!

Read this to understand why we ask you to do this, and then please edit your first post to include links to any and all cross-posts in any other forums (not just this site).

If you have less than 10 posts, do not try to copy and paste the link. Instead, type the link out in your thread.

No further help to be offered, please, until the OP has complied with this request.

    Hi Ali,
How are you? Thanks for your message. My apologies, I didn't know about "cross-posting".
FYI, I just reported my post on the other forum so it can be closed, and requested it to be closed in the thread as well, as you can see.

Could you please "release" my post so it could get answered?
    Thanks so much in advance,

As soon as you tell us where else you have posted this, you can get help. You have not done so yet. Please do take a moment or two to read through our rules - there is a fairly prominent link to them on the menu bar above.

You don’t need to have threads removed anywhere. All you need to do is give details of them, for the reasons explained in my post above.

Ahahah, I feel like I am in some bad movie. I'm trying to do things right, work on a Sunday, get help, abide by the rules as I get to know them, yet I am making no progress.
I am asked to post a link to that cross-post. Yet, when I try to do so, I am told that as a new user I can't post links.
Doomed if I do, doomed if I don't and in limbo I still am... Ah well...
    Lesson learned...

Well, now I am thinking, since I am being told that I cross-posted and I am in the "hold-up" cell until I share that other link, yet I can't, how did one get to know that I posted that same question on another forum if the admins didn't already know what the link to the other post is??
    (scratching my head...)

Yes, we know where you posted, but so do you. The rules require you to share that information here. No, you can't post a link, but you can name the forum. That is covered in the instructions back in post #2 if you would care to read and follow them:

If you have fewer than 10 posts here, you will not be able to post a link, but you must still tell us where else you have asked the question.
    and:

If you have less than 10 posts, do not try to copy and paste the link. Instead, type the link out in your thread.
The bad dream is of your own making: most people just say sorry and give the name of the other forum(s) where they have posted, as requested. It's quite simple and the rules are the same for everybody.

Re: Display the "Defined Name" of a cell in a cell when the cell reference is in a cell?

    Hello Ali,

Well, it seems like I eventually found how to fix my problem. After a week or more...
All was needed to do was to make sure that every cell that was a variable in my scenario had its matching “defined name”.
And now anytime I run a different scenario, those headers are perfectly displayed.

I had never used “defined names” before until now. They're definitely a great tool that deserve more recognition! :-)

Thanks so much again for your support!
