Question Proper syntax to calculate formula which feeds a second calculation

    Hi.

    I have this: £492.08 * 0.63 = £310.01 // £600.24 - £310.01 - £24.24

I have tried making a formula to calculate it, but I can't get anything working or find anything online.

I want the cell to work out £492.08 * 0.63 = £310.01 then with that amount do this £600.24 - £310.01 - £24.24 so the target number should be £265.99.

I appreciate any help and advice.

Re: Proper syntax to calculate formula

That seems pretty straight forward. Can you show what you have so far and what you are having trouble with? We could provide how we would do it, but that might not match at all what you are working on.

Attach a sample workbook (not a picture or pasted copy). Make sure there is just enough data to demonstrate your need. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are shown, mock them up manually if necessary.

    Remember to desensitize the data.

Click on GO ADVANCED and then scroll down to Manage Attachments to open the upload window.

I'm not sure where you're getting the numbers from, but the maths is simple:
    Formula: copy to clipboard

Now if all of '£492.08 * 0.63 = £310.01 // £600.24 - £310.01 - £24.24' is in one cell and you're trying to extract it then it gets more difficult. Without a file like jeffreybrown requested, it is hard to know how to help further.
