Particular word cannot be copied

Hi,

I am very curious about this problem in my MS Office.
When I put the name of our client without Inc. at the last, I can copy it in different MS App.
But when I already put the Inc at the last, it cannot be copied anymore, especially in MS Excel, which i use most often.
When I tried to paste it at MS Word, certain codes (as it looks like to me) appeared.

But when I add some letter from the entire word, with Inc in it, it can now be copied and pasted.

This happens in this particular client only. I tried to look for its format, but right click or even pressing the shortcut key in keyboard do not work. I need to press Cntr+Shift+F, and whether I check/uncheck the "Locked" on its Protection, it still cannot be copied/pasted.

Please help.

Without some sample data to play with, the best I could do was use abc inc, and it copied with no problem?

Where are you copying it FROM??? A www page??

1. I copied it with no problems.

2, If you are having a problem in an excel file, upload that excel file, not a text document

Do you have any autocorrect entries set using that client name?

I have just opened your file and copied C3 to C5 with no pronblems

Rorya - I do not remember setting an auto correct in this client, and even all our clients.

I've encountered this before, and the only way I was able to find any of these was to open the AutoCorrect window and start scrolling.

Not a satisfying strategy I must admit. Unless perhaps someone can write a macro to output an AutoCorrect list on a partial match I can't think of another way.

Dave, could you at least replicate the problem?

The fact that it happens in all Office programs, and not for anyone else, tends to reinforce my suspicion.

@ Ford. No I can't. I believe those are specific to OP's individual Office settings much like AutoLists. I tend to think rorya is on to something.

That's what I am thinking as well.

So, again, have you actually checked your autocorrect settings? Perhaps one of your colleagues thought it would be funny.

Did you try this?

It's in File > Options > Auto > Proofing > AutoCorrect Options...

Can you run this macro for me and tell me if you see a message?

If you open Excel in Safe mode (hold down the Ctrl key while starting the application), do you see the same problem?
